Where I live: We live out by Beaver Lake just outside of Rogers. We’re about 15 minutes from downtown Rogers, which is ideal for us. We’ve lived in our home for just about 20 years now. We had previously lived in Rogers, inside the city limits, for a very long time. When we were living in town, we spent a lot of time on the lake. We were actually looking for a cabin, and we ended up finding a home, which is why we moved to the lake. Our home is unique to me in that it’s almost like a treehouse. It’s a redwood-siding home, so it fits into that natural setting very well.

Occupation: Owner of Landscape Creations by S Jasan. I’m a landscape designer, and my work varies from total site design for figuring out where a house goes on a property to a lot of outdoor living space design — patios, outdoor kitchens and swimming pools. I’ve been doing this since 1998, and it’s a second career for me. I absolutely love what I do.

My favorite space: On our back deck.

Why? It faces north. We’re enveloped into a dogwood tree that hangs into the space. We do a lot of entertaining out there. It’s like everybody is just drawn to that space. We hung a swing there on the back deck several years ago, and it’s kind of my special little spot. It’s very peaceful. We hear sounds from the lake, birds — even just the wind rustling through the leaves.

If I could do one thing to improve this space I would: Get rid of the squirrels and some of the deer. They eat a lot of our plant material.
