United States Can’t Afford War In Syria

Idon’t like what I’m hearing about what is going on in Syria with chemical weapons being used on their own people. It’s a terrible thing, but we are not the police of the world and we can’t afford to try to be. It’s enough already! The cost is too high, We have lost too many of our loved ones already. Besides that, we are more than $16 trillion dollars in debt.

I read in the newspaper that our leaders are putting pressure on President Obama to take action on Syria. Whose country areour leaders working for, Syria or the Unites States? If we get into another war we will go even further in debt, resulting in higher taxes or programs like Medicare and Social Security being diminished.

Our leaders need to be cut off from spending one more dime and realize we are bankrupt. Their goal should be to get us out of debt so then they can lower our taxes. That’s how you help people, by letting them keep more of their hard-earned money. They are elected to make our lives better not worse. Theyare putting pressure on the president to take action, (yet) they don’t even know what action is. Last year they couldn’t get anything accomplished, except to agree to disagree.

We are a caring nation and we feel like we have to do something when we hear of horrible things happening around the world, but this could be our downfall.

There will always be something bad happening around the world. It’s sad but true. If we want to be a great nation that can do many great things, we have to be strong and be realwith ourselves about our financial situation. We have to be strong and take the hard road when it comes to issues like Syria, knowing by doing so that one day we will be a strong debtfree nation and capable of doing so many great and wonderful things.

On the other hand if we don’t change the path we are on, one day the lights will go out and you can take that to the bank, given they are still open and you can see where you are going.
