Tebow among speakers scheduled for Springdale football event

SPRINGDALE — Tim Tebow is among the speakers scheduled for the Southwest Elite 7-on-7 Showcase scheduled for July 11-13 at Shiloh Christian.

Tebow, the former Heisman Trophy winning quarterback who was cut by the New York Jets earlier this week, will be joined by former NFL head coach Herm Edwards and Walmart U.S. president and CEO Bill Simon. Tebow will speak Friday night, July 12 at the Northwest Arkansas Convention Center, while Edwards and Simon will speak at a breakfast on Saturday.

The event will host 32 teams from 14 states this year with the winner advancing to play in the National Select 7-on-7 Championships in Hoover, Ala. Fayetteville High School won the Southwest Elite Showcase last year.
