HOT SPOTSLAKE DARDANELLE Bass are being caught on black/ blue jigs, buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, jigs and crankbaits in root beer, chartreuse, green and orange. A few crappie are being caught around the cattails. Bream are plentiful in the lily pad stems. White bass and stripers are being caught in creeks and by the dam. Gar and carp are stacked up in the backwater.

GREERS FERRY LAKE Black bass are spawning all over the lake with many on beds.

Try spinnerbaits, Flukes, floating worms and Texas-rigged baits. Crappie are in all stages of the spawn. Dip jigs in brush and work them vertically.

Hybrid and white bass fishing are good with many finishing their spawning runs and moving back to the lake.

LITTLE RED RIVER The water is clear with one generator running. Trout fishing is excellent using PowerBait, night crawlers and wax worms with marshmallow floaters. Crankbaits and Shad Raps are working well for spin fishermen. There have been some great caddis hatches along the river, and caddis emergers and soft hackles are working well during the hatches.

LAKE MAUMELLE Bream fishing is fair using worms and crickets around main lake points. Crappie fishing is excellent using jigs and minnows fished around shoreline brush and vegetation. Bass are biting well on spinnerbaits, jigs and topwater lures. Catfishing is excellent using chicken liver, shad and green sunfish. White bass are biting well in the main channel on Rooster Tails and Baby Shad in white/salt and pepper.

LAKE OUACHITA Black bass fishing is excellent using floating worms and Brush Hogs. Some topwater action has started. Walleye are biting well.

Spoons and inline spinners are working best, and some are being caught on bottom-bouncing night crawlers fished near structure 15-25 feet deep.

Striper fishing is very good. C-10 Redfins and live bait are working best.

Bream fishing is fair with most being caught on crickets or worms fished in 20-25 feet of water. Crappie are being caught near and over brush on minnows and crappie grubs.
