City to Accept Bulky Waste Saturday

FAYETTEVILLE — The city’s final spring bulky waste cleanup is Saturday.

Residents can drop off furniture, appliances, carpet, wallboard and other large items for free from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Woodland Junior High School, 1 E. Poplar St., and Center Street Church of Christ, 310 W. Center St.

Participants are asked to bring a recent copy of their water bill to prove residency.

Household hazardous waste, such as paint, batteries, cleaning supplies, automotive fluids, tires, pesticides and herbicides, will not be accepted. Neither will medical waste, electronic waste, brush, leaves and grass clippings.

Household hazardous waste can be taken to Washington County’s collection site, 2615 Brink Drive, during regular business hours. Yard waste disposal is available to residents at the curb or at the compost facility, 1708 S. Armstrong Ave.
