SAMFORD’S DEAN’S LIST Area residents named to the Dean’s List for the fall semester at Samford University in Birmingham, Ala., are Meredith A. McDowell, a senior sociology major from Bentonville; Hannah J. John son, a senior accounting major from Bella Vista; and Lauren M. Turpin, a senior education major from Fayetteville.

To qualify for the honor, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework.

UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA-LINCOLN DEAN’S LIST

Tyler Jerold Steiner of Fayetteville was named to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Dean’s List/Honor Roll for the fall semester of the 2012-13 academic year. Steiner is a freshman Raikes School-actuarial science major in the College of Business Administration.

To qualify for the honor, a student must have earned a 3.6 grade point average while attempting at least 12 semester hours in the College of Business Administration.

STEPHEN F. AUSTIN STATE UNIVERSITY DEAN’S LIST

Kristonnia Malloy of Springdale has been named to the Dean’s List at Stephen F. Austin State University for the fall semester: To be eligible for this honor, a student must be enrolled in 12 or more graded semester hours and maintain a grade-point average of 3.5.

HARDIN-SIMMONS UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT’S LIST

Jordan R. Rogers of Bentonville was named to the Hardin-Simmons University President’s List for the fall 2012 semester. Rogers is one of 251 students to receive this academic honor. The President’s List is composed of students carrying 12 or more semester credits who have grades of A on all courses for the semester.

EMERSON COLLEGE DEAN’S LIST

Emerson College student Ashley Cunningham of Fayetteville, a marketing communications major, has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2012 semester.

The criterion to make Emerson’s Dean’s List is a grade point average of 3.7 or higher.

UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS HONOR ROLL

More than 4,450 undergraduate students at the University of Kansas earned honor roll distinction for the fall 2012 semester. Area honorees are as follows: Holly Smith of Fort Smith. She is the daughter of Betty Brinker of Fort Smith. She attended Southside High School.

Smith, a senior at KU, was named to the honor roll for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Andrew Dalton of Fayetteville. He is the son of Timothy and Kathleen Dalton of Fayetteville. He attended Fayetteville Senior High School. Dalton is a fresh man at KU and was named to the honor

roll for the School of Arts. Sara Gramling of Fayetteville. She is the daughter of James and Diana Gram

ling of Fayetteville. She attended Fayetteville Senior High School. Gramling is a senior at KU and was named to the honor roll for the School of Business.

George Holtzen of Fayetteville. He is the son of Helen and George Holtzen of Fayetteville. He attended Fayetteville Senior High School. Holtzen is a senior at KU and was named to the honor roll for the College of Liberal Arts and Sci ences.

Georgia Mason of Fayetteville. She is the daughter of Amy and Chadd Mason of Fayetteville. She attended Fayette ville Senior High School. Mason is a se nior at KU and was named to the honor roll for the School of Journalism & Mass Communications.

Danielle Ryan of Fayetteville. She is the daughter of Christine and John Ryan of Fayetteville. She attended Fayette ville Senior High School. Ryan is a senior at KU and was named to the honor roll for the School of Business.

Carissa Smardo of Fayetteville She is the daughter of Holly and Fred Smardo of Fayetteville. She attended Fayetteville Senior High School. Smardo is a senior at KU and was named to the honor roll for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Alyssa Potter of Bentonville. She is the daughter of Mark and Helen Potter of Bentonville. She attended Bentonville High School. Potter is a Prof 1 at KU and was named to the honor roll for the School of Pharmacy.

Brittany Potter of Bentonville. She is the daughter of Mark and Helen Potter of Bentonville. She attended Bentonville High School. Potter is a Prof 1 at KU and was named to the honor roll for the School of Pharmacy.

Russell Stricklen of Gravette. He is the son of Linda Lane of Gravette and John Stricklen of Overland Park. He attended Home School - State of Kan sas. Stricklen is a senior at KU and was named to the honor roll for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Emily Farnan of Rogers. She is the daughter of Joseph and Katherine Far nan of Rogers. She attended Rogers High School. Farnan is a junior at KU and was named to the honor roll for the School of Business.

Alexandra Flint of Rogers. She is the daughter of Nicholas and Susan Flint of Rogers. She attended Bentonville High School. Flint is a senior at KU and was named to the honor roll for the School of Education.

Honor roll criteria vary among the university’s academic units. Some schools honor the top 10 percent of students enrolled, some establish a minimum grade-point average and others raise the minimum GPA for each year students are in school. Students must complete a minimum number of credit hours to be considered for the honor roll.

UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA TWIN CITIES DEAN’S LIST

Kate C. Bucknam, a freshman from Fayetteville, has been named to the 2012 fall semester Dean’s List at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities Col lege of Education/Human Development

To qualify for the Dean’s List, a stu dent must complete 12 or more letter-graded credits while attaining a 3.66 grade point average.

AVILA UNIVERSITY DEAN’S LIST

Luke Oldham of Rogers has been named to Avila University Dean’s List for fall of 2012.

Candidates possessed a grade point average of at least a 3.5.

MISSOURI UNIVERSITY

OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY HONOR LIST

Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, Mo., has named their honor list for the 2012 fall semester.

Honor list recipients must have carried a minimum of 12 hours and had grade point averages of 3.2 or above out of a possible 4.0.

WILLIAM JEWELL COLLEGE FALL DEAN’S LIST

Andrew Cozart of Fayetteville, sophomore, psychology; Ashley Mix of Fayetteville, junior, nonprofit leadership;

and Heather Walton of Siloam Springs, senior, business administration and nonprofit leadership, were named to the Dean’s List at William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo., for the fall 2012 semester.

To qualify for the Dean’s List, a student must earn at least a 3.5 grade-point average while carrying 14 or more semester hours.

WILLIAM WOODS UNIVERSITY DEAN’S LIST

Mary Raines Scriber of Bentonville has been named to the Dean’s List at William Woods University for academic accomplishments during the 2012 fall term.

To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must be full-time and have achieved a minimum 3.6 semester and cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

ROCKHURST UNIVERSITY FALL 2012 DEAN’S LIST

Kailey Kelly of Bentonville and Karsyn Betts of Rogers have been named to Rockhurst University dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester.

This honor recognizes students who have achieved a grade-point average of 3.5 or above.

LYON COLLEGE DEAN’S LIST

Cody Besett, McKenzie Macy and James Whitmore, all of Rogers, have been named to the Lyon College Dean’s List for the fall 2012 term.

To be on the Dean’s List, a student must maintain a 3.75 grade point average or higher while taking a minimum of 12 hours in a semester.

RHODES COLLEGE HONOR ROLL

Bentonville resident Kelsie E. Cox was named to the Rhodes College Honor Roll for the 2012 fall semester.

To qualify for the honor roll, a student must be enrolled in at least 16 credit hours of academic work and must achieve a semester grade point average of 3.85 or better.

WAKE FOREST UNIVERSITY DEAN’S LIST

Hannah Breden a resident of Fayetteville was among over 1,900 students from Wake Forest University who made the fall 2012 Dean’s List.
