Organic Farming Small Part of Farm Bill

 Lupe Ortiz with Arkansas Egg Company works on separating eggs Thursday afternoon in their facility just north of Summers, Arkansas.  The Arkansas Egg Company is a local organic producer of eggs with a great interest in the farm bill that was not reauthorized last year as Congress instead extended the 2008 bill for one additional year. Sen. Boozman visited the rural Washington County farm earlier this week to hear concerns.

Congress expects to pass a new farm bill this year and local organic farmers hope it grants them more funding. Read »
