Where I live: My husband Wayne and I live in Little Rock’s Leawood neighborhood.

Occupation: Executive director, American Heart Association - Central Arkansas Division.

My favorite space is: Our downstairs den.

Why? I find peace in this comfortable room that is my answer to the proverbial “man cave.” The decor is very traditional with paneling, wooden blinds, overstuffed furniture, bookshelves, sentimental furniture and family treasures. There is also a pool table, flat-screen television and a fireplace. It is comfy, warm and cozy. The den is designed with fun and work in mind, but it really has become my “work room” after dinner. I have spent many hours devoted to various AHA events and projects here in the solitude of my downstairs den. My creative juices really flow best while sitting in front of the fireplace with my laptop and a glass of wine. Whether I am down here for work or play, I find this room is where I completely relax.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Convert the two storage closets into a wet bar. The closet already has a mini-fridge for chilling wine.
