Deputies seek man after woman stabbed

Deputies are looking for a bald man with a goatee who they believe stabbed a woman around noon today in northwest Washington County, according the sheriff's office.

Kelly Cantrell, sheriff's office spokeswoman, said a man stopped at a residence on Osage Hog Farm Road near the Benton County border and asked a woman for directions.

The man then asked to enter her home and then tried to force his way inside, she said. The woman was stabbed with an unknown sharp object after a brief scuffle, she said. The suspect left with the object, she said.

Cantrell said the woman did not recognize the suspect. Cantrell described the suspect to be a white male of an unknown age, medium build wearing blue jeans and a dark blue hoodie.

Investigators believe the man is driving a dark blue, two-door, older pickup truck that is possibly an extended cab. He is believed to be traveling northbound into Benton County.

The condition of the woman is unknown at the time, Cantrell said.

Cantrell asked anyone with information about the suspect to notify law enforcement by calling 911. The man is believed to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached, she said.
