FAYETTEVILLE — A West Fork man is being held in the Washington County Detention Center in connection with 10 residential burglaries in rural Washington County, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office.

Michael Walter Selby, 23, is being held without bond following his arrest Sunday after a three-month investigation. The burglaries occurred between Nov. 2 through Jan. 29.

Reports from across the county indicated the suspect would take a pillowcase from the residence and steal jewelry inside the home, according to the release.

Some of the stolen items were recovered by detectives who also were able to identify other property sold in pawn shops. Selby confessed to the break-ins, according to the release.

The investigation is continuing and more arrests are expected.
