Collegian’s suicide said to avert slaughter

University of Central Florida police block off a street near the Tower 1 dorm (tall building at center) after explosive devices were found by authorities investigating the suicide of a college student in the dorm Monday in Orlando, Fla.
A college student with two guns, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and a backpack filled with explosives pulled a dorm fire alarm Monday in what may have been an attempt to force other students out into the open so that he could slaughter them, authorities said.
