County Residents Encouraged To Register

The chance of severe weather increases as spring approaches, and that underlines the importance of receiving accurate and timely information in an emergency, county officials say.

BC Alert

BC Alert is a notification system that allows officials to immediately contact residents during a major crisis or emergency. Important emergency alerts, notifications and updates can be delivered to all devices, including an email account (work, home, other); wireless devices (cellphones, pagers); landlines; and smartphones. BC Alert will give instructions on where to go, what to do, or what not to do, and who to contact during an emergency. Other important information also can be passed on to users through this notification system. BC Alert is a free service; however, the wireless carrier may charge a fee for the messages sent to the device. To register, visit www.BCAlert.com.
