Cat in the Hat plans Rogers visit

The Cat in the Hat will visit the Rogers Public Library from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

The Arkansas Educational Television Network and Mercy Northwest Arkansas worked together to bring the Cat to the region.

The event is free, but those attending are encouraged to bring a new or gently used book to donate to the Boys & Girls Club.

There will be story time, face painting and more.

Lunches focus on health issues

Northwest Health System will offer two luncheons as part of the Healthy Woman series: “A Hopeful and Alternative View to Pain and Anxiety,” presented by Dr. CarlosSuarez is set for noon on Tuesday. Lunch options are a grilled chicken sandwich, hamburger or soup and salad and is $5 at Outback Steakhouse in Springdale.

“Metabolic Syndrome and How it Affects You” will be presented by Ryan Hueter at noon on Wednesday. Lunch options are grilled salmon, grilled chicken or grilled tilapia and is $5 at Bonefish Grill in Rogers.
