Little Rock Zoo also opens new playground March 9

What’s new at the Little Rock Zoo? The zoo, which is the only zoo in Arkansas accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, has about 750 animals and 235 species, says zoo director Mike Blakely. The zoo was created in 1926 and includes more than 30 acres. He says its most recent acquisitions are penguins and cheetahs, and a new playground also opened March 9.
