LITTLE ROCK — SUN BELT UALR 12, TEXAS-ARLINGTON 2

John Clark hit a home run in the third inning, Ben Crumpton hit another in the fourth and UALR scored all of its runs in the first five innings of Tuesday’s victory at Gary Hogan Field in Little Rock.

Clark’s home run, his second of the season, gave UALR a 4-0 lead in the third inning and Crumpton, who also hit his second, drove in three runs to start a five-run fourth.

Clark hit a two-run double in the fourth and finished 2 for 5 with 3 RBI and 1 run scored. Crumpton was 1 for 3 and also scored four runs, while Austin Pfeiffer was 4 for 5 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored.

Jesse Harbin (1-0) earned his first victory of the season after giving up 1 hit and striking out 5 in 4 scoreless innings to help UALR (10-7) snap a four-game losing streak.

MISSOURI STATE 6, ARKANSAS STATE 2, 11

Arkansas State (10-6) came back from a one-run deficit twice, but Missouri State (11-3) scored four runs in the top of the 11th inning to defeat Arkansas State on Tuesday night at Tomlinson Stadium.

“Give Missouri State credit because they did a wonderful job of competing,”ASU Coach Tommy Raffo said. “If you don’t play the game right, things will catch up to you pretty quick and that is what happened to us tonight.”

ASU fell behind 1-0 in the fifth inning when Missouri State scored on an RBI double by Spencer Johnson. But ASU tied the score when Dustin Jones drove in Ryan Emery with a sacrifice fly in the seventh.

The Bears threatened to break the game open in the top of the ninth when they put runners on first and third with two outs, but Jones made an excellent catch at shortstop to end the threat.

SOUTHLAND CENTRAL ARKANSAS 15, ARKANSAS-PINE BLUFF 2

Ten Central Arkansas pitchers combined Tuesday night to hold Arkansas-Pine Bluff to two runs, one earned, in a victory at Bear Stadium in Conway.

Clint Green, Zach Barr and ConnorGilmore worked the first three innings, giving up one unearned run on four hits. Jon Rand, John Kordsmeier and Taylor Wallace threw the middle three innings, allowing one hit and recording a strikeout. Griffin Glaude, Blake Clayton, Connor McClain, and Ethan McKinzie threw the final three innings, allowing two runs on a walk and a hit while striking out three.

Gilmore (1-0) earned the victory. McKinzie recorded the save.
