FOOTBALL Barbaree promoted by Carlisle
Carlisle defensive coordinator Brandon Barbaree was promoted to head coach Monday night.
Barbaree replaces Scott Waymire, who was recently named head coach at Trumann. Barbaree also was head coach at Drew Central and England.
Jonesboro back headed to JC
Jonesboro running back Martin Stafford, a member of the 2012 Arkansas Democrat-Gazette All-Arkansas team, will continue his career at Holmes (Miss.) Community College, Hurricane Coach Randy Coleman said.
Stafford finished his career with 4,155 rushing yards, setting single-season school records as a junior (1,818 yards) and a senior (1,936 yards).
