Hogs cruise to 20-2 win

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas drew a school-record 19 walks, including six with the bases loaded, and beat Alabama A&M 20-2 Tuesday night at Baum Stadium.
The Razorbacks overcame a slow start and even a 1-0 deficit to easily win their fifth straight game. The 20 runs were the most for Arkansas since scoring 32 against St. Louis in 2010.
Isaac Hellbusch had 4 RBIs during a 7-run fourth inning, allowing Arkansas to break out of a 1-1 tie. Hellbusch, who had just missed on hitting a home run in his first at-bat, connected on a two-run home run with no outs in the inning to give the Razorbacks the lead and had a two-run single later in the frame.
Hellbusch, who started the game as a designated hitter before catching the ninth inning, finished with a game-high 5 RBIs. Brian Anderson added 4 RBIs while Dominic Ficociello and Tyler Spoon each had 3 RBIs.
Spoon, who had a 16-game hit streak entering the game, failed to record a hit in seven plate appearances.
Arkansas scored two more runs in the fifth and one in the sixth before a 9-run seventh inning. The Razorbacks drew seven walks in the inning, including five with the bases loaded.
Thomas Altimont earned the win for Arkansas, throwing 2 1/3 innings, allowing one run. Landon Simpson earned the save by pitching the final three innings.
Colin Poche struggled in a start, allowing one run in 1 2/3 innings. The freshman left-hander left the game after issuing a bases-loaded walk in the second inning. Brandon Moore stranded the bases loaded and pitched two scoreless innings.
