Four people escaped injury Sunday when the single-engine aircraft they were in crashed at Rogers Municipal Airport-Carter Field after 8 p.m., authorities said.

Rogers Fire Chief Tom Jenkins said there was no official cause to the incident which involved a flight from Chattanooga, Tenn., but he said it may have been weather-related. Temperatures were hovering around 32 degrees with winds gusting at 18 miles per hour from the west.

At least one wing was ripped off the airplane, and firefighters spread foam to contain a fuel leak, Jenkins said.

Jenkins said the runway would be closed while debris was removed.
