Where I live: We live on Elizabeth Avenue between Old Wire Road and Rolling Hills Drive [in Fayetteville]. That neighborhood is like living in the woods but you’re in the middle of town.

Occupation: Director of Adult and Community Education Center in Fayetteville. Adult education serves more than 1,500 adults in Washington County in GED preparation, English as a second language, citizenship and employability skills. Those are all free classes we provide for adults. This is the last year the test will be free in Arkansas.

My favorite space: My big comfy chair with an ottoman in my living room.

Why? I sit there every morning, read the newspaper cover to cover and have coffee. It’s got great light coming in. I get to look outside. I have a bird feeder I can look at. I can see the cardinals and hear the wind chimes on the porch. My cat has her little scratch board right at my feet, so she sits there with me. I garden a lot, so I get to look out at my gardens outside.

If I could do one thing to improve this space I would: Have my 6-month-old grandson sitting on my lap while I read. He lives in Boston, so it’s a long time between visits.
