Where I live: I live in Little Rock’s Hillcrest neighborhood in a 1930s-era house with my wife, Jeanne, and Jessie, our rescued Lab-mix dog. Our daughter is a student at Hendrix College, and our son is a student living here in Little Rock. We’ve lived here almost 21 years and raised our family in this house.

Occupation: Business and transaction lawyer with Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates & Woodyard, P.L.L.C.

My favorite space: Our kitchen.

Why? Jeanne and I both enjoy cooking and eating. Our eat-in kitchen is where we do both. She’s a great cook. I’m a superior eater. On the occasions that I cook, I prepare braised short ribs or pan-seared pork chops. Our kitchen has good countertop space for chopping and prep work. The lighting is good, which I’m finding to be more and more important. There’s a decent amount of storage that we’ve managed to fill. And the kitchen is large enough for both of us to work in it. Our guests always end up in the kitchen when we entertain.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Add an island with a big six-burner cooktop, and put in a double oven.
