SUN BELT CREIGHTON 4, UALR 2

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - UALR (9-5) lost its first road game of the season Friday to Creighton (5-2) in the Riverview Inn Classic.

Creighton broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the fourth on Kevin Lamb’s sacrifice fly. The Bluejays added a run in the fifth as Reagan Fowler hit the team’s second sacrifice fly in as many innings.

Chance Cleveland (2-2) started for the Trojans, allowing 4 runs, 3 earned, on 6 hits in 41/ 3 innings.

ARKANSAS STATE 2, ALABAMA-BIRMINGHAM 1

JONESBORO - Alex Potts hit a game-winning single in the bottom of the 11th inning to score Logan Uxa and Arkansas State (9-4) beat Alabama-Birmingham (6-8) at Tomlinson Stadium.

Claude Johnson led off the 11th with a single to center field. Uxa reached on a fielder’s choice before Stuart Levy struck out swinging. Uxa then advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on Potts’ single to right field.

ASU tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the sixth on Ryan Roberts’ RBI double.

Johnson led ASU, going 2 for 4 and scored a run.

SOUTHLAND/SEC MISSISSIPPI STATE 4, CENTRAL ARKANSAS 2

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State (17-0) snapped Central Arkansas’ nine-game winning streak in the first game of a three-game series at Dudy Noble Field.

Nick Rougeau’s groundout in the top of the eighth inning scored Garrett Brown to pull the Bears within 4-1. Michael Marietta hit his first home run of the season in the top of the ninth, but Bulldogs closer Jonathan Holder earned his sixth save of the season.

Bears starter Caleb McClanahan (3-1) allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 42/ 3 innings.

Forrestt Allday finished 2 for 4 to lead the Bears.
