Rockwell art is up at Crystal Bridges

Aware of illustrator’s enormous popularity, museum awaits crowds

Anne Morgan, one of the models on the cover of the September 7, 1957 Saturday Evening Post titled "The Check Up", visits with Marilyn Bogle, of Bentonville, Thursday morning at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. The museum will host American Chronicles: The Art of Norman Rockwell exhibition March 9 through May 27.

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art expects record crowds over the next 11 weeks as a new exhibition by illustrator and painter Norman Rockwell (1894-1978 ) opens to museum members today and to the general public this weekend. A preview day for media was held Thursday.

It was an amazing Rockwell exhibition tonight. Seeing the original art next to Saturday Evening Post covers, and so much more. Such talent.
And to top it all off Harrison Ford was there and waved at me! In NWA! Indiana Jones & Han Solo right there at Crystal Bridges.
Gonna take a while to top that.

Typical. "Rockwellesque" is a perfect descriptor for Crystal Bridges. Sticky sweet propaganda art for the masses. Congratulations, Ms. Walton.
