— Greenland ends perfection

Greenland played a nearly perfect game against what was a perfect team. Senior guard Morgan Miller scored a game-high 14 points and MVP Kiana Thompson added nine points and nine rebounds as the Lady Pirates knocked off previously unbeaten Jessieville 59-32 in the girls Class 3A state championship game at Barton Coliseum in Little Rock.

Bay avenges loss

An early season loss to Concord meant little to Bay when it came time for the Class 1A state championship. The Yellowjackets avenged that October defeat by the Pirates with a 54-51 victory Thursday night at Barton Coliseum.

Norphlet wins in first shot

Norphlet didn’t need a second chance at making a first impression in its title game debut Thursday night. The Lady Leopards cashed in on their first try and are bringing championship hardware back to Union County.

Pottsville steals title

Pottsville’s Michael Perry had one steal Thursday night and it came at the most opportune time, picking off a Dollarway pass at midcourt with 10 seconds remaining to allow Pottsville to secure a 54-50 victory over the Cardinals in the Class boys 4A state championship game at Barton Coliseum.
