Defiant N. Korea hit with new sanctions

U.N. Security Council members vote Thursday in New York for tough new sanctions against North Korea over the country’s latest nuclear test.
The U.N. Security Council on Thursday approved new sanctions against North Korea for its underground nuclear test last month, in a unanimous vote that came just hours after North Korea threatened for the first time to launch a pre-emptive nuclear strike against the United States and South Korea.
