Outlaw’s legacy expanded rapidly

Seventh in a series previewing the 2013 inductees into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame The late John Outlaw was never a college football head coach, but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t recruit. Outlaw, a 2013 Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame inductee, was assembling his staff at Sherman (Texas) High School in the spring of 1988 when he returned to Arkansas to convince Todd Quick to become the school’s linebackers coach. Outlaw had just left Arkadelphia High School after nine highly successful seasons with the Badgers, punctuated by state championships in 1979 and 1987.
