The road to Gregory

The invitation proved irresistible. Don Tilton, one of Arkansas’ most famous lobbyists, called to say that he would be picking up Paul and Mary Berry of Little Rock for a Friday afternoon trip to Gregory in Woodruff County. Would I like to tag along? Paul is among this state’s most colorful lobbyists and gifted storytellers. Mary also can tell stories with the best of them. Between the three of them, I knew there would be plenty of tales told about Arkansas characters past and present.
