Voting against violence

After more than a year of bitter partisan fighting, Congress last week finally re-authorized the Violence Against Women Act, including new provisions that will extend the law’s protections for gay, lesbian, transgender and Native American victims of domestic violence. It’s about time.

There is a new movement, One Billion Rising, that is sweeping across many countries.
Its goal is to end violence against women everywhere.
Yes, it's about time this law was reauthorized in the U.S..
