BASEBALL

• Senior Babe Ruth meeting will be held March 27 for teams interested in participating this season. The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. at the CED office, 1102 Sterwin St., in Springdale. For more information contact David DeBoard at 966-1063.

FENCING

• Northwest Arkansas Fencing Center in Bentonville will hold registration for March introductory classes. Classes will run Mondays and Wednesdays starting March 4 from 6 to 7 p.m. for 3 weeks (6 classes). Classes for children ages 6 to 9 (Little Musketeers) runs Mondays and Fridays and includes all equipment. Call 696-7776 or email [email protected] to register.

FOOTBALL

• Signups for spring tackle youth football for grades K-7 will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Saturday through March 16 at Academy Sports and Outdoors in Rogers and Fayetteville. GOLF

• The Bella Vista No-Frills, Three-Person Scramble is scheduled for March 23 and 24, on the Kingswood and Berksdale golf courses. Members and their guests may register through March 15. The tournament is a 36-hole scramble with three drives per person each day. Golfers not included in the Bella Vista Handicap System must have valid copies of handicap cards. Only one player per team may have a negative Bella Vista Scramble handicap. The entry fee is $75 per team, which does not include green fees or cart rental. All teams will compete in both divisions. Fifty percent of the prize money goes to the gross division and 50 percent of the prize money goes to the net division. A team can win in only one division, since the highest possible winnings will determine placement. Forty percent of the field will share in the prize money. Skins and closest-to-the-pin prizes will also be included. All prizes will be gift certificates. • The inaugural Rogers Heritage War Eagle four-man golf scramble will be held April 26 at Big Sugar Golf Club in Pea Ridge. It will be a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Cost is $400 per team. • The Bella Vista Women's Nine-Hole Golf Club will host a spring brunch on March 25 at Riordan Hall. Registration will be at 9 a.m. The group is also seeking members for the coming season. Both forms can be obtained at all club houses or on the POA website at www.bellavistapoa.com. The membership application should be mailed with a check to Judy Lemoine , 32 Chelmsworth Drive, Bella Vista, AR, 72715. The brunch reservation should include a check for $10 and sent to Jane Long, 16 Tavistock Drive, Bella Vista, AR, 72714. Deadline is March 18.

LACROSSE

• NWA Lacrosse is seeking coaches and players in grades 3 through high school for boys and girls teams. The season starts in March and ends in May. RUNNING

• The Jackrabbit 5K event is March 23 on Bright Road in Bentonville. The event includes a half-mile "Bunny Hop" (fun walk) and post race Easter Festival. The 5K starts at 8 a.m., and the Bunny Hop starts at 8:45 a.m. The cost for the 5K is $20 if registered by March 9, and $25 if registered after that date. • The Springdale Rotary Club will hold the first Pig Trail Mud Run this spring. Registration is open now at www.pigtrailmudrun.com.

SOFTBALL

• Fayetteville High School Fastpitch Softball League for girls 6U, 8U, 10U and 12U now forming with games to begin May 1 and run through mid June. USSSA  guidelines to allow opportunities to enter tournaments as a sanctioned team. League costs $70 and will include camps and clinics hosted by Lady Bulldogs players and coaches and games will be played at the FHS Ball Yard. Accepting the first 60 girls in each age division. Age 6U is T-ball/coach pitch. The 8U and 10U divisions will be machine-pitch. The 12U division will be player pitch. Players placed in age groups as of December 31, 2012.
