It is the moment educators live for: The fl ash of recognition in a child’s eyes when that mysterious connection is made between what has been taught and what has been observed; when all the disparate pieces of information about some scientific concept suddenly lock into place. It’s the moment that confi rms learning, advancement and intellectual growth. For someone dedicated to teaching, there are few comparable joys.
