Where I live: I live in the Heights with my husband, Jon, and our 3-year-old German shepherd-Lab mixes, Coco and Cookie.

Occupation: Editor of Savvy Kids, a monthly magazine about children.

My favorite space is: My home office

Why? My office is the one room that I can say is just my space. What I enjoy most about this space is sitting in my comfy chair with a blanket over me, and drinking lots of coffee while I work, read a book, shop online or listen to NPR. The room has great natural light, and it’s just a calming, relaxing place. It’s where I seem to get my best ideas and inspiration. The room is full of all my favorite things, like the 1930s typewriter my husband gave me for Valentine’s Day a few years ago, and the various bits and pieces that I’ve collected from our many trips to Europe over the years. I’m also a hoarder of books and still have some from junior high. You’ll notice that there is a large dog bed in here too. Coco and Cookie rule the house - even my room.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: I’m looking forward to framing my vintage book-cover postcards and hanging them all over the room.
