Fayetteville pet wash to expand service

Business has been so good for Chris and Patti Deen since they opened Bark ’N Paws Pet Wash & Market in April they have decided to expand services.

The Fayetteville business offers full- and self-service dog washing, grooming and retail sales. Grooming services are being expanded to five days a week, Tuesday through Saturday. The Deens employ two part-time groomers.

The business is at 1267 N. Steamboat Plaza, southwest of the Interstate 540 and Wedington Drive intersection. It is open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

There are five stainless steel walk-in tubs stocked with towels, shampoos and conditions, blow dryers, and brushes and combs for self-service. Small dogs can be washed in the self-service tubs for $12; big dogs cost $15. No appointment is needed.

Full-service prices vary.

Chris Deen said the business lets people wash their dogs and not have to worry about cleaning up the mess. The couple used a dog-wash service when they lived in Virginia and saw it as a good fit for Northwest Arkansas when they moved back to the area. Chris Deen is from Blytheville and graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, and Patti Deen graduated from the University of Tulsa.

Retail and display space fills 1,700 square feet of the shop’s 2,300 square feet. Items include dog and cat food and treats made in the U.S., collars, leashes, toys and healthcare products.
