— Neither BJ Young nor Marshawn Powell was selected in the 2013 NBA draft Thursday.

Young, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound guard, left Arkansas after his sophomore season as a two-time member of the All-Southeastern Conference second team and was named an All-SEC freshman in his inaugural season with the Razorbacks. Young led the team in scoring during both his seasons at Arkansas.

Young entered his name into the 2012 NBA draft after recording 15.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game in his freshman year. He decided to withdraw his name, however, hoping to earn his way into a lottery pick.

The St. Louis native saw all three of his shooting percentages slip, however. His three-point percentage fell from 41.3 percent to 22.7 percent, his field goal percentage fell from 50.4 percent to 41.3 percent and his free throw percentage slipped from 74.3 percent to 66.9 percent from his freshman to sophomore season.

Powell, who dealt with a broken hand, broken foot and torn ligaments in his right knee while at Arkansas, was the team’s second-leading scorer and leading rebounder last year. He joined Young as a member of the All-SEC second team. The 6-foot-7, 240-pound forward decided to forego his fifth year of eligibility, averaging 14.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game and posting a career-high 34.6 percent three-point percentage in his final season with the Razorbacks.

Powell was also one of four unanimous selections on the All-SEC Freshman team in 2010, joining Kentucky first-round picks John Wall, Demarcus Cousins and Eric Bledsoe.

Arkansas native and Sylvan Hills graduate Archie Goodwin was drafted with the second-to-last pick of the first round. The one-year Kentucky guard was selected by Oklahoma City with the 29th pick (first round), but the Thunder traded his rights to the Golden State Warriors, who traded his rights to the Phoenix Suns.
