Prospective elk hunters who missed the May application period for a permit have one more chance. They can apply for an Arkansas elk hunting permit at the Buft alo River Elk Festival on Friday and Saturday in Jasper.
Hunters must apply in person at the festival from 1 to 5 p.m. on Friday. Applications are taken at the senior center. Only Arkansas residents may apply.
