Kacy Harwood, a certified nursing assistant at Washington Regional’s BrookStone Assisted Living Residence, recently received a $1,210 nursing scholarship from The Attic, a Fayetteville charitable organization.

A total of 1,829 bachelor’s degrees, 528 master’s degrees, eight specialist degrees and 39 doctorate degrees was conferred. Beyond the standard expectations, 548 students were recognized for their work with a more rigorous curriculum in Missouri State’s Honors College.

Scholastic honors were given to 114 students who graduated summa cum laude (with a grade point average of 3.9-4.0 on a 4.0 scale), 165 who graduated magna cum laude (with a GPA of 3.75-3.89) and 269 who graduated cum laude(with a GPA of 3.5-3.74).

Missouri State University is located in Springfield.

The University of Arkansas chapter of Phi Beta Kappa recently inducted 48 students from Northwest Arkansas into its membership.

Phi Beta Kappa is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious honor society. To be selected students must major in one of the liberal arts and sciences, enhance their studies with a significant breadth in their coursework, and graduate in the top 10 percent of their class.

Four outstanding students from Northwest Arkansas were inducted into the honor society in their junior year, all of them with perfect 4.0 grade point averages. They are:

Mary Guthrie from Fayetteville, an English major and the daughter of Patrick and Terry Guthrie.

Sarah Plavcan from Fayetteville, an English and history major and the daughter of Joseph Plavcan and Katherine Knieriem.

Mathias Bellaiche from Fayetteville, a chemistry and physics major and the son of Laurent and Sheila Bellaiche.

Austin Campbell from Fayetteville, an economics and Spanish major and the son of Glenn and Kristi Campbell.

Six area residents were named to Oklahoma Baptist University’s academic honor roll for the spring 2013 semester.

Whitney Elizabeth Keithley of Bentonville, a sophomoreworship arts major, was named to the President’s Honor Roll.

Sarah Barnes of Gentry, a senior elementary education major, was named to the Dean’s Honor Roll.

Hayden McAfee of Gravette, a senior biochemistry major, was named to the Dean’s Honor Roll.

Rachel Piston of Siloam Springs, a senior nursing major, was named to the Dean’s Honor Roll.

Britanee Russell of Springdale, a junior applied ministry: children’s ministry major, was named to the President’s Honor Roll.

Lexi Elizabeth Keller of Springdale, a sophomore elementary education major, was named to the Dean’s Honor Roll.

Students who achieved a semester grade point average of 3.7 or higher on a 4.0 scale are named to the President’s Honor Roll. Those who achieved a grade point average between 3.4 and 3.69are listed on the Dean’s Honor Roll.

With campuses in Shawnee, Okla., and Oklahoma City, OBU offers 10 bachelor’s degrees with 84 fields of study and two master’s degree programs.

The Christian liberal arts university has an overall enrollment of 1,979, with students from 37 states and 26 other countries.

Ryan Taylor Watson, a 2011 graduate of Huntsville High School, was named to the spring 2012 Dean’s Honor Roll at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater.

Full-time undergraduate students who completed 12 or more hours with a grade point average of 4.00 were placed on the President’s Honor Roll, and students with a grade point average of 3.50 or higher with no grade below a “C” were placed on the Dean’s Honor Roll.

Audrie Lathrop of Bentonville, a student at the University of Kansas Schoolof Architecture, Design and Planning, was named a winner in the category of Best Total Campaign at the National Student Show, a conference of the Dallas Society of Visual Communications.

Joshua Carl Hare, son of Charlene and Carl Hare of Decatur, has been given a Collegiate Scholars Award from Arkansas Tech University in Russellville for the Fall 2013 semester. The inductee into the National Honor Society plans to major in computer engineering.

Earl Bakke III ofBentonville, a nursing student, was awarded an Academic Excellence Award from the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith.

Samantha Miller Walker of Bentonville was presented the Outstanding Student in Management Award at the awards banquet for the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas.

The management major graduated in 2006 from Bentonville High School.
