Rogers Man Arrested

BENTONVILLE — A woman reported a man broke into her home and raped her Sunday night, according to court documents.

Scott James Haid, 50, of Rogers was arrested in connection with rape, residential burglary, domestic battering in the third degree, violation of a protection order and contempt. He was being held Tuesday in the Benton County Jail with no bond set.

The woman told Sheriff’s Office deputies she went to bed about 9 p.m. Sunday and woke about 90 minutes later. She went into her kitchen when she heard a loud crash at her front door, according to court documents. The woman said she turned around and saw Haid, who grabbed her by the hair and forced her into the living room, according to the affidavit.

The woman claims Haid assaulted her and then raped her. Haid fled the home after seeing vehicle headlights outside the house, according to the affidavit.

The front door window was broken and there was a broken picture frame hanging on the wall and broken picture on a coffee table, according to court court documents.

Haid claimed the woman broke the window and she hit him with her fist, according to the affidavit.

Haid faces domestic battery charges in connection with another incident involving the woman. He had been ordered not to have any contact with her, according to court documents.

Haid claimed he was living with the woman at the residence, but there is a no-contact order involving the pair, according to the affidavit.
