Caution urged as temperatures reach mid-to-upper 90s

Temperatures across Arkansas this week will reach the mid-to-upper 90s with heat indexes approaching or surpassing the triple digits.

The National Weather Service says extra caution should be used during outdoor activities.

In Little Rock, highs of 95 and 99 are forecast Wednesday and Thursday.

Crawford, Sebastian and Franklin counties in western Arkansas are under an excessive heat warning through Friday night. The weather service said the above average temperatures coupled with a moist low-level environment will result in "dangerous heat conditions."

No other warnings were in place across the state Wednesday morning.
