3 family members killed in Arkansas car crash

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police say an accident on Interstate 55 in Arkansas has claimed the lives of three family members.

According to WMC-TV, a sport utility vehicle carrying a family of four struck the back of a tractor trailer, which then hit another vehicle.

Police said the driver of the SUV and two passengers, including a 2-year-old, were killed.

A fourth passenger, a 6-year-old child, was taken to LeBonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis, which is about 10 miles from where the accident occurred near Marion, Ark.

The condition of the child has not been released.

Police said the driver of the tractor trailer and the driver of the vehicle it hit were not injured.
