Gibbs Walks For Shoes

Graham Gibbs takes it one step at a time today.

He will walk the track at Shiloh Christian School in Springdale - barefoot - to build and awareness and solicit donations for Samaritan’s Shoes.

He invites others to walk with him.

Samaritan’s Shoes works to put shoes on the feet of children around the world - and in Northwest Arkansas, he explained.

The goal for this year, the Back to School Northwest Arkansas 2013, is 2,013 shoes to children in Northwest Arkansas.

“$15.24 puts a pair of shoes (and socks) on a kid anywhere in the world,” he said.

Gibbs is the director of development-corporate and donor relations for Samaritan’s Shoes.

As children receive their shoes, Samaritan’s Shoes representatives will wash the feet of impoverished children, in the spirit of Jesus washing the feet of his apostles.

Shoes will be distributed in August in partnerships: Aug. 3, First United Methodist Church in Bentonville;

Aug. 10, Restoration Church in Fayetteville; Aug. 17, Turnbow Elementary School in Springdale; and Aug. 24, Bella Vista Assembly of God.

Another fundraising activity comes in the form of a “golf event” July 12 inBella Vista.
