Cold rain and the potential for snow scrapped the first date for Springfest.
Moving the event into the first weekend of summer should fix that problem.
After a one-year hiatus, Springfest was expected to return on May 4. Instead, it will take place all day Saturday on Dickson Street. Events at the street fair include the popular bed races, which pit competitors on a bed frame in a race down Dickson Street, a dog parade and a dedicated children’s area. Additionally, two stages of live music will run almost all day.
One major difference between the rescheduled date and Saturday’s offering is the inclusion of a 5K race. The run will depart from Jose’s at 7:30 a.m. Registration is open now, and packets may be picked up from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Jose’s.
