Reported home invasion investigated in Springdale

Police are investigating a reported home invasion robbery this morning at apartments at apartments on Greens Drive in Springdale, according to a news release from the Springdale Police Department.

The caller reported that a masked man possibly, carrying a gun, came into the apartment and ordered a father and his daughter to take off their clothes, according to the news release. The intruder then ordered the father to put zip ties on his daughter. The father complied, but put them on loosely, according to the news release.

The intruder said he only wanted money, so the father threw his wallet to the ground. A 3-year-old came out of the bedroom, and the intruder demanded that the children be put back in the room, the news release stated. As they went back to the hallway, the daughter freed herself from the restraints and began looking for her phone. She saw the suspect take $60 from the wallet before leaving, according to the news release.

Responding officers found a package of zip ties and a package of condoms in a nearby trash bin.

The man was described as between 5-feet-8-inches to 5-feet-10-inches tall with an accent, according to the news release.

The incident is under investigation. Officers ask anyone who sees suspicious activity to call police immediately.
