Asearch for local talent is on tonight in Rogers.
Fresh Talent Showcase is part of Main Street Rogers Third Friday, which runs from 5 to 9 p.m.
today downtown and in Frisco Park. The talent show is open to anyone in the area. Dana Mather, events and promotions coordinator for Main Street Rogers, says the idea is to showcase local talent. The School of Rock based in the Bentonville/Rogers area will produce the show.
Student bands from the School of Rock will play before and after the showcase.
About eight applicants were registered as of Tuesday, and Mather says most acts are people who want to sing with their own instrument or with an accompaniment.
Other Third Friday activities will include local artists set up on Elm Street to showcase visualart, and downtown shops and restaurants will be open later.
An inflatable slide and pony ride are also available for a fee.
Lemonade and food items will be offered for purchase,along with a beer garden serving beer and wine, according to a Main Street Rogers news release.
