Northwest Arkansas could get a second Cracker Barrel if things go as planned.
Jeanne Ludington, a Cracker Barrel spokeswoman, said Wednesday the company is interested in building a restaurant near the Walton Boulevard and Interstate 540 interchange in Bentonville.
She said plans are in the early stages and the company doesn't yet own any land, but the intention is to develop a Bentonville site. Ludington said it could be several months before any official announcement is made.
Cracker Barrel is a country-style restaurant and retail chain. It operates 11 restaurants in Arkansas including one off the I-540 and U.S. 412 exchange in Springdale. The chain has more than 600 locations in 42 states. Company headquarters are in Lebanon, Tenn.
