UPDATE: Toy gun found after police fire shots in Springdale incident

A man was arrested this morning at a Springdale Neighborhood Market after he brandished what turned out to be a toy gun at officers and barricaded himself in his vehicle, according to a news release from the Springdale Police Department. One officer fired seven shots during the incident but did not hit the man, according to the news release.

The man was identified as Rainbow Kilo Rasphoumy, 40, of Huntsville. The incident started when police pulled him over following a complaint from his niece. Rasphoumy was arrested in connection with aggravated assault, assault in the first degree and resisting arrest, according to the news release. The officer-involved shooting will be turned over to the prosecutor for review per standard procedure, according to the news release.

In addition to the toy gun, officers found three parakeets, three chickens and two ducks inside Rasphoumy's van, the news release stated.
