Pedestrian, 2 drivers die in Saturday crashes

Three people, including one pedestrian, were killed in crashes Saturday, according to an Arkansas State Police report.

Pedestrian Joann Crawford, 47, of Marvell, was killed when Robert Lindstrom, 38, of Carriere, Miss., hit her as she was trying to cross Highway 49 North in Marvell in an unlit area at approximately 2:25 a.m., the report states. Lindstrom was listed as uninjured in the report.

Sherry D. Lovett, 65, of Almyra, was killed when Christopher P. Vanhouten’s disconnected trailer hit her 2010 Toyota truck on Yoder Road, three miles south of Stuttgart, according to the report. Vanhouten, 40, of Hazen, was driving his 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe at approximately 1:10 p.m. when he went over a dip in the road and the trailer he was pulling disconnected and entered the northbound lane, the report states. The disconnected trailer hit the front of Lovett’s car on the driver’s side, according to the report. Vanhouten was uninjured, the report states.

Leland Robinson, 29, of Maumelle, was killed when he failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the centerline and hit Thomas Henry, 81, of Cabot, the report states. Robinson was driving east on Highway 38 about four miles west of Des Arc and hit Henry, who was traveling west, at approximately 4:25 p.m., according to the report. Henry was listed as uninjured in the report.
