One-Fly Benefits Reel Recovery
A one-fly trout tournament to benefit Reel Recovery fishing retreats for male cancer survivors will be held on Saturday at the White River below Beaver Dam.
Drawing for partners is at 6:30 a.m. in the parking lot immediately below the dam.
Fishing is from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m Lunch and prize drawings will follow.
Entry fee is $20 and includes lunch and prize drawings.
Anglers receive one fly to use in the tournament, but “mulligan” flies may be purchased for $5 each, with a limit of four flies.

Weekend On Tap
Free fishing weekend in Arkansas begins at noon on Friday and runs through Sunday. Missouri’s free fishing weekend is Saturday and Sunday. No fishing license or trout permit is needed to fish in Arkansas or Missouri during free fishing weekend.
Forest Service Waives Fees
The U.S. Forest Service will offer a “fee-free day” on Saturday at all Forest Service recreation areas in Arkansas and around the nation. No fees will be charged to enter recreation areas on Saturday.
Boating Education
Course Taught
An Arkansas Game & Fish Commission boating education course will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in Fayetteville.
