NWA Senior Babe Ruth All-Stars Fall In Regional Final

Mid-County, Texas, ended the Northwest Arkansas All-Stars’ impressive run in the Senior Babe Ruth Southwest Regional on Tuesday evening.

Mid-County defeated the NWA team, which includes players from several different area cities, 4-1, in the regional finals in El Dorado.

It was the second loss of the tournament to the Mid-County, Texas, team for the NWA All-Stars.

The NWA team made its first-ever appearance in a regional final. It was also the first time to win more than two games in a regional, according to team officials.

The NWA All-Stars, the North Arkansas state champs, stayed alive in the double-elimination tournament with a 6-0 win over Crossett, the South Arkansas state champions, on Monday night.

Ryan Duffy threw a two-hitter, struck out one and did not walk a batter in the seven-inning complete game.

Austin Van Poucke and Jeremy Rook drove in two runs apiece. Van Poucke also hit his third home run of the tournament. Avery Miller and Daniel Sanchez each went 2-for-3 and scored a run. Sanchez also drove in a run.
