Centerton Man Arrested

BENTONVILLE — A Centerton man was arrested Saturday in connection with the sexual assault of two girls.

Troy David James, 45, was being held Monday in the Benton County Jail on $100,000 bond. He was arrested on charges of two counts of sexual assault in the second degree, a Class B felony.

James’ arrest came from information provided to the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Hotline that was forwarded to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.

The mother of a 6-year-old girl reported her daughter being inappropriately touched by a man, according to court documents.

James was questioned by a Sheriff’s Office detective and denied the allegation, according to court documents.

A 7-year-old girl was questioned during the investigation and said James touched her inappropriately when she was 6.

James’ arraignment is set for 8 a.m. Sept. 3 in Circuit Judge Robin Green’s court.
