Where I live: In the Heights neighborhood of west Little Rock with my husband Brandon and daughters Mary Kate, age 6, and Emme, age 5.

My favorite space is: Without a doubt, my kitchen.
Why? I think of my kitchen as a place where I create delicious and healthy meals for my family. I am teaching my two little girls to cook and why it is important, as well as why certain foods are better for them because they nourish their bodies and make them feel good. We eat family meals here each night. There is a counter bar with four bar stools facing my range, and my girls love to watch me as I’m prepping for the evening meal. We talk about their day at school, and they can do their homework. The kitchen opens to a small den, making this a great space in which to entertain. While I cook, my guests can enjoy a tray of appetizers on the counter.
If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: If I had more room, I would add a double oven - those are always nice when cooking for a crowd. Maybe a second dishwasher too.
