Springdale Man Sentenced To 15 years

A Springdale man was sentenced to 15 years in prison for robbing a man at gunpoint after arranging to meet him to buy some speakers.

Jose Adolfo Delgado, 20, pleaded guilty Thursday to aggravated robbery, a Class Y felony. The plea came an agreement attorney Sergio Barron reached with A.J. Anglin, deputy prosecutor.

Zach Williams told Centerton police he met with two men he had talked with online via Craigslist, according to court documents. Williams said he met the men at 9:30 p.m. Jan. 4 at at Harps. One of the men told Williams they needed to get more money and would meet him later at White Oak Station, according to court documents.

Williams said when he asked for money to complete the transaction a man later identified as Delgado pointed a gun at him and ordered him to hand over everything in his pockets, according to the affidavit. Williams gave up his wallet, cellphone and iPod. The men also took the speakers.

Williams told police Delgado threatened to shoot him if he told anybody, according to court documents.

Police obtained the cellphone number the men used to call Williams, according to court documents. Police then tracked the men through the cellphone. Rogers police made a traffic stop and arrested the men.

Jose Ramos-Rosales, 21, was identified as the second man, according to court documents.

Circuit Judge Brad Karren accepted the plea agreement and Delgado’s guilty plea. Delgado was sentenced to 15 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction. He must serve 70 percent of his sentence before he will be eligible for parole.

Delgado also must pay $1,370 in court costs.

The case against Ramos-Rosales has not been resolved.
