The Rogers Historical Museum will host “Works in Wood: A Folk Art Sampler” Saturday through Sept. 28.
The exhibit features examples of the variety of folk objects made from wood.
A selection of works from the Roy Harris woodcarvings collection owned by the museum will be shown. The museum has more than 200 of Harris’ tools, animals, implements, wagons and log structures.
Also included are carved canes, musical instruments, wooden toys, hand-painted signs, a piece of folk marquetry inlaid furniture by Henry Tribble of Rogers and a cigar store Indian.
A Folk Art Family Day is planned in conjunction with the exhibit from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 21. Guests can see demonstrations of folk arts or participate in hands-on weaving, seed art and folk craft workshops.
